Holidays are coming!

Just a quick post from me today before I finish up for Christmas.  A huge thank you to all my blog readers and commenters this year, it’s been great talking to you all and you have helped and inspired me in my crafty business enormously.

I was taken to Reading this week by my husband for a surprise – we went to see the Coca-Cola truck!  I love the advert, and now I’ve seen the truck, so it must nearlly be holiday time.

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and find lots of crafty gifts under the tree for you.  I’m looking forward to lots of knitting, lots of chocs and some good films on the telly.

And finishing the pattern for a new little friend – more next year……

Merry Christmas x

About madebyewe

Hello, and welcome to my blog, where I talk about the ups and downs of running a crafty business, knitting and life. I learnt to knit when I was a child in the 1970s. I think my Mum taught me, though it may have been one of my Nans. Both Nans were great crafters and my Mum knitted, when she had time. My childhood was full of wearing Mum's warm and cosy handknit jumpers to school and playing with yarn by the fire, making presents for my family and clothes for my toys. When I grew up, I started a business designing children's handknitted jumpers. Now I spend some of my time desgining gardens, as well as designing knitting. The garden design business is well established; the knitting design business is just starting out. I love the rhythmic quality of knitting, the feel of woolly yarn in my hands and the way a project grows beneath my fingers. It is relaxing and productive at the same time. I especially love vintage knitted toys and the quirky simplicity of the patterns. They were often made in times of austerity, when money and supplies were short, but the desire to create something fun inspite of this, shines through. I am a supporter of the Campaign for Wool, supporting the British wool industry, and using British yarn for my kits. Where would we be without fields of fluffy sheep to admire? Baa Humbug to acrylic!

Hi, I’m so jealous you saw the truck, it came to a town about an hour from us and we were going to go and see it, but it was on a school day morning and we all wanted to see it when it was dark! So we didn’t go. Hopefully it’ll tour again next year and it’ll be near us at a different time.
Love your knitted owls and sheep!
    Happy Christmas!

Isn’t it funny how Coca Cola has made itself go with Christmas? Kind of funny. 🙂 Oh, btw, I got Bob in the mail! I won’t start on him until after the holidays, but he’s here. Thank you. 🙂

Did you know that Santa has a red cloak as a result of Coca Cola? His cloak was originally green and then Coca Cola did a marketing thing in the 1920s I think and changed it to red
Glad Bob arrived – It’s funny thinking of my sheep going all over the world
      Happy Christmas
